What Happens During Toilet Replacement?

If you want to know what happens during the toilet replacement process, here’s the process we generally follow to ensure a smooth flush:

  • We start off the installation process by turning off the water supply to the toilet. We also flush it to empty the tank and the bowl. If there’s any remaining water, we remove it using a sponge or a towel to prevent spills, because the cleanup shouldn’t be on you!
  • After that, we disconnect the water supply line. We also loosen the bolts securing the toilet to the floor. After they’re detached, we carefully lift away the old toilet, exposing the drain opening and the wax ring seal.
  • Once the old toilet is gone, we’ll clean the flange area and inspect it for any signs of damage or wear. If needed, we’ll replace the flange or the mounting hardware. We’ll also position a new wax ring on the floor to create a watertight connection between the toilet and the drain.
  • We’ll then carefully lower the new, shining toilet into place, ensuring it aligns correctly with the floor bolts. At this point we will tighten the bolts into place and secure the new toilet.
  • Reconnecting the water supply line and filling the tank by turning the water supply back on will be the next step. As the final part of the toilet replacement process, we’ll check for leaks around the base and confirm that the new toilet works properly.

A properly installed toilet is a happy toilet, and our local team will ensure it’s done correctly On Time, Every Time.
